SHOOT TO THRILL: MAC WEST NYC

A simple shot but totally awesome. That lens is a sensation. I have one on the way and this shot vindicates my decision to get one. This lens is going to be one of the great lenses of our time.

Greg.

I don't understand how people see, or they only imagine and nobody uses their eyes anymore.

This is extremely horrible picture, I am not talking about the camera and lens, this is probably the best combo available, but I see a picture here that a camera made in 1855 produces superior pictures to it.

I don't understand why people lie in their responds.

Please help, am I missing something? do I need some training to see like you? or it is polite to lie to every poster to make them happy?

Yes it is polite to lie to every poster so with that said...

This is extremely wonderful post. I am not talking about the web page and the data entry form. This is probably the best combo available, but I see a post here so thoughtful it could have been written by William Shakespeare.

I understand why people come to the internet to trash other people with thoughtless mean-spirited comments instead of something that might actually help the OP.

Please help, I try to be a constructive human being that makes the world a better place I need some troll training to see like you.

Thank you for your thoughts, but you can't make me believe that Hypocrites are constructive and they made this world a better place.

Not necessarily. They stop by to talk about images from 1855, and yet bicker about others' actually using their cameras today.

It is a good shot, but to compare, I would like to see the same shot taken by a nex. Likely I would be able to zoom in more and get more detail so it is better for larger prints, but how many do that nowadays? Given the resolution that I and 98% of the camera owners view at, it is wasted. Would give more crop ability though! Never going to spend that much on my hobby.

There is no doubt that they take good pics, but I already have plenty if detail on my 5n, and I suppose if I had lots of money to spend I would try it. I guess in the world these days there are the 90% that are perfectly happy with their phone camera, and the other 10% that want something better. My gut feel is that most of the 10% will not need full frame. Heck, most of them are hanging out at 4/3rds!

Hi there,

Hate to throw dust in your face after such wonderful shots of sawdust and stuff but I do see unusual patterns above the log here (tree stump) I posted something like this a few weeks ago, and everyone said it was nothing serious, seems even at 125 you get that vibration/shock effect in shot.

Let me know your thoughts on this, just above the 4 or 5 dark pieces of dust and over the wood itself.

It's actually the shot before the last one...

There is no notable vibration/shock effect in that photo at all.

By your description, you're talking about the bokeh above the stump which is, admittedly, a tad nervous but not bad for a 35mm lens of that sharpness.

The 55's bokeh is much smoother BTW.

Hi Bakhtyar

You got me curious: by 'extremely horrible" what do you really meant? I like bold opinions, but you'll need to develop a little bit more yours, because "a camera made in 1855" won't make it (BTW, in 1855 ISO 800 was not available)

Regards

I'm sorry to rain on your parade also. The shot is way underexposed and for being shot at F11 the DOF really make my eyes go bonkers. the -1.3 ev doesen't help. I would have tried that shot at ISO 800 at least and focused on infinity. With 36MP to play with you could crop the stump if thats what you wanted.

I shoot a D800E with a 24mm 2.8 and usually get execellent sharpness from 2 Ft to infinity. I hope that when I get the A7R that it equals the D800E which I fully expect it to do. I'm not sure why the blur, did you shoot in RAW or JPG, and what did yuou process it with? Not trying to be mean but the shot really jared me.

Regards

Just click to view %100, let me know if there is any information in it, it is a picture that has no more than 250 kP ( a quarter MP) of detail, is that why people buying a 36MP camera with no AA filter?

I don't know the poster, and my respond was not to him, but I can't control myself when someone call this kind of blurry snapshots by wonderful. just because it has been taken with a good camera and lens.

I still want to understand, what do you see in it? subject? detail? resolution? good DR? sharpness? contrast? color? nothing of those..

It is just a blurry grainy area that looks like a tree trunk if you downsize it by %2500
