A HUGE thank you to Fujifilm for making what I think is the most incredible camera around. Finally I have back the images made from my BRAND NEW Fujifilm GF670W camera and they are just astonishing to me. I dropped some big coin on this camera and had high expectations for the results, and I am NOT disappointed in the least. In fact, the results are far better than I had hoped for! I was simply stunned into silence once I saw the images flipping across my screen. As they kept on going by, excitement built up until I could no longer contain myself. WOW! Just WOW!

The camera is an absolute joy to shoot with. Perfect size, not too heavy, very easy to focus, with a viewfinder that is so big, so huge, that my X100 looks minuscule when I switch to it.

These posted images are HALF SIZE, not full. Color film is 400H, monochrome is mostly Acros 100, with a smattering of Kodak TMAX 400 in there.

WOW!! That's what i call high IQ.

I wish that all these modern camera companies that exist now, that are so concentrated in high ISO would realize this.

Incredibly beautiful man! Congratulations and enjoy it :-)

I'm not sure of the purpose of your post. Yes, the pictures are good but the camera you used is a $3000.00 plus, medium format film camera.

I would expect them to be very good and if someone wants to spend that kind of money on a film camera, plus the price of film and processing, then that's great.

Just the same, I'm still confused about what this has to do with this forum.

I have to say one last thing, and many people will disagree with me. I don't really care for the B&W shots. The color pictures are excellent but the B&W pictures don't look all that great on my monitor.

Apparently you did not see the original thread. I was asked by many here to post the results when they came back from the lab, which I have now done.

That's fine too. All these shots are destined to be printed on paper, which is where they will really shine.

Excellent set of photos. Tough to choose, but those are my favourite two. Do you have more?
Thank you very much. The color shot that is your favorite was the first shot I reviewed from this camera. My breath just evaporated as I could not believe what I was seeing. I even struggled for words as I tried to call my wife to see. I'll post a few more later on when they are uploaded.

The monochrome shot you picked was one I made to test the rangefinder of my GF670W. As you can see, it was bang on.
How did you process/scan?
The black and whites were processed with D76, scanned by an Epson V700 and converted from TIF to JPEG in Lightroom 4. No post processing done except one image was cropped about 5%.
Thanks for posting!

Thanks for sharing! I like these three the best, though they are all quite nice. I've got a fuji 6x9, but i've always found the rangefinder patch to be almost comically small - is it larger in this camera?

Interesting shots, Graham. I particularly like the last two. The perspective recession and repetition of forms really catches my eye. Good asymetric composition on both. What stock are those on? Can't go wrong with TMAX 400. I've shot a lot of it with my Rollieflex cams. That Fuji looks like fun!

Hey MU,

Thank you for looking and your comments. My very first Fujifilm camera was a 6 x 9. I had the GSW690 and yes, I agree, the rangefinder patch on those was much too small. Thankfully, the patch on the GF670W is MUCH larger. At least 3 times larger, if not more. It is VERY easy to focus this camera.

Thanks for commenting Chris! Yes, this camera is LOADS of fun. It is absolute murder now because I want to go out shooting but the weather is terrible now. Dang!!!

Those two shots that you like were both shot on TMAX 400 film.

Thanks again for looking.

Congratulations on your new camera! I hope you have many years of enjoyment using it. It's great to see your enthusiasm, don't lose that.

A few from the GA645, using Reala film. This camera is destined for retirement now that the GF670W is here.

i see nothing my X-m1 can't do.

I had a 6x7 mk3 , loved using it but the shutter
sound made my ears bleed . I would love to
be able to run another but the whole film and
processing for me is a no no unless I could
Start another darkroom.
Nice but not for me. Unless they fit a 6x7 sensir

Yes, the old Fuji MF cameras had crazy loud shutters. Thankfully, the new GF670W has a shutter so quiet, Fuji put and LED in the viewfinder to let you know that you fired the shutter. Without that you'd be wondering if the shutter snapped or not. It is virtually silent.

I am so in love with this camera I'm prepping a huge sell off of my digital gear to fund the sister camera, the GF670 folder.

Thank you for this stimulating and thought provoking comment to our discussion. I am sure the benefit that you have provided us here will be beyond measure.

How does this camera compare in output to the DP Merrill cams? I know they are quite diferent cams to say the least but just asking anyone out there who has compared. The GF670W has been on my wish list but I could buy the trio of Merrill cams for the same price but the Fuji has the soul and feel of the camera I desire. I guess the best thing is to get the DP1 Merrill and enjoy the challenge of the quirks for a bit.
