If someone already had it, and may want to keep it... Could be used in crop mode (and it would work more like 35mm as if on NEX-7) or in a backup APS-C body.

I used it for awhile on my nex 5r. I returned it because the pictures did not show much difference than those of the 18-55 kit lens.
Yeah true. I forget that the 7r is still around 15 MP in crop mode.
