Hi,
Earlier in the year I canvassed views on whether to take both the x100 AND the X-E1 on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Venice. In the end, and considering the replies I took just the X-E1 and I was really pleased that it performed faultlessly. I have however, been procrastinating about posting my efforts because I've been viewing some STUNNING Venice pictures from other posters which have totally shot my confidence to bits. I realise now that I handicapped my efforts by not taking a tripod and ND filter. (The pitfall of 'carry-on' hand luggage) Such a basic addition to the kit would have dramatically enhanced my chances of better photography. Lesson learnt.
If I can manage to upload my photos I am prepared for some vitriolic C&C as I do like to work on my files.... I guess its a habit from 3 or 4 decades of hand printing bromides and Cibachromes, I always feel that the negative/raw file is just the starting point. I know others on here don't share that view which is great, that's what makes our passion so fluid, our visions so expansive. So I really will consider all comments, I am happy the continue learning, especially from all you guys who took a tripod to that magical city.
