Hi Folks,

I got my camera problem resolved today at the Sigma NL office. I took the camera and they tested it, checked it and finally replaced it with a new one. Considering mine had taken less than 100 shots it was in perfect state (less than 10 days old) but had some problems that perhaps needed attention.

I'm a happy customer. Wait for a couple of days to see some 28-300mm photographs...

Best,
Naresh

Naresh,

You're still welcome to take a detour of sorts.

Hi Naresh,

We would all like to think that any manufacturer could always produce perfect equipment "from the box" but that rarely happens.

A colleague had problems with his Nikon DSLR - had to wait some 8 weeks for its return during which time he purchased an Olympus basic 5MP model to carry him through, so despite the problems, it is good to hear Sigma is trying hard to satisfy its customers.

I recently bought a new "set-top box" to give me free viewing channels on my (UK) TV. Was made by Panasonic. That was very faulty and was replaced without fuss, thankfully!

When my original SD9 proved to have a misplaced sensor due transit shocks, it was replaced without any fuss after just over a week - and this was at a time when they were in really short supply in the UK.

Let's hope you can now have some fun because all my personal tests on a range of different DSLRs show the Sigma/Foveon combination really is the best - despite what some try to claim. I just made A3 prints from several different models and none (repeat NONE!) can handle detail like the Sigma/Foveon combination. One look at the comparison prints by visitors here on workshops soon settles their minds about what to get. The only dilemma is for those who already have a DSLR of another make and who cannot afford to change :-)

Well I got mine replaced too last week for battery/power issues. Now I have taken over 100 pictures and the indicators still show full power

Will count hom nany shots I get from the batteries
