What I want to know is, will the G5 have the same slowness when it comes to focus as does the G3?

When in low light, it can be very frustrating at times when it counts.

I guess somebody here will have to go out and buy one.

Press releases are so full of stuff, aren't they?

I guess the question is: Does the G3 focus by moving only one element?

I would expect it be much faster than G3 based on the delibrate statement in the press release.

"Chromatic aberration that plagues lesser quality digitals has been all but eliminated with the incorporation of 2 aspherical elements. Extremely fast and accurate focusing is achieved by controlling focusing with the movement of just one rear element. "

that indeed would be another very nice improvement over the G3...

But....the question still remains....is this statement in reference to other "lesser quality" cameras, or the previous G3? I think this statement is fairly vague, and does not really imply a change from it's predecessor?

Has there been any indication that anything at all has been changed besides 5mp and the black body?
