1. amazon usa :#6 is nx300

2. amazon de : #3 = nx300

3. amazon uk : #9 = nx 1000

4. amazon fr : #11 = nx 1100

this always changes but shows that samsung nx is "still there" and sells more than fuji x

I'd never imagine this, considering how 'silent' is this forum compared to others. Probably many nx customers are not 'tech enthusiasts'...

Indeed. NX customers are busy doing photography.

All day long? Wow :-) not 5 minutes from time to time to do anything else...very immersive indeed...

That should be the reason why every professional photographer in the world uses nx :-)

Is there any evidence that amazon's list is a true reflection of sales? I'm sceptic.

I'm pretty sure they're trying to push sales by ranking items higher.

Like 'the XY toasters are not selling well, let's make them look like they're popular, so the sheep will follow the virtual herd'.

Besides, on the co.uk list the top four 'compact system camera' items are not even compact system cameras. So I think this list is a lie.

Very likely. The local mall where I bought my nx300 didn't sell a single galaxy nx, for instance. They had one for about two months, after that they sent it to another section (in another region).

About the nx300, I remember they told me it was selling quite well (better than older nx models, including nx1000), but much worse than sonys and especially worse than top selling m4/3 cameras. But this was just after the presentation. I guess the sales have now gone down quite a bit for nx300, which is now more than 7 months old.

Very likely.
Sorry, i tried to fit those list URLs together and all i recognize is that some amazon´s have a big mess with their camera classification. I think thats no intention to achieve some goals, thats perhaps to much relying on automatic software classification combined with human amazon moderators who have no clue about cameras. I doubt that even the nx300 is everywhere under "system camera".

I think currently the nx300's begin to sell quite good because the price comes down to reasonable ranges

my observation, amazon ranking is accurate and basing on sales figures. do not see why people think there is error. also, there is increase in number of new owners as seen here in forum.

had a feeling that this was a playing with the numbers.

These are not Camera sales these are "Bundle sales" the actual Camera sale list doesn't have a Samsung NX on the top 20 in the US.(the NX300 shows up around 93)

I don't know how the other groups calculate it but based on what I've seen on these lists it suggests not just the camera but the camera from that seller or sales are very small. Unless a Nikon battery grip, for the D3200, or Yongnuo Triggers are Compact Camera too.

Amazon data indeed was true.
Btw, not all photographer care to join a forum, let alone just talking about DPR here. :-D

Of course, but this should apply to any brand, not just samsung. And if you look, eg, fuji forum, or nex forum, both are much more active than samsung one (which btw is about not only nx, but all the samsung cameras.....).

The problem is: Samsung does not sell the Nx300 without lens.

So we have to look for Bundle sales.

Samsung NX300 are not alone, there are many Japs brand camera modeld not selling their camera without kit lens too.

...maybe You can explain, why there is nearly no traffic at the offical english speaking silkypix forum, despite Silkypix being the bundled Software from several manufacturers?

-

Maybe Silkypix did work without problems? ;-)

Maybe it is (for most people) as self explaining, as the Samsung user interface?

-

There are always many possibilities why something seems to be this, or that way...

...who cares in this case?

If a Sigma camera owner would care how few users they are...

...he would jump ship, if he would care what the mainstream does.

So, You are free to jump ship, if You are insecure and want to bath in the mainstream.

-

I'm happy with my NX lenses and my NX 1000...

...and they will last, as long as they will, independent of what others do and think - including You and Samsung.

-

In any case I wonder why in nearly every thread about Samsung, You seem to moan at a time, where it is clear, that they are selling more APS cameras than ever before and give informations about future sensors being applied in APS cameras and smartphones.

Is there any chance that You do not moan one day? ;-)
