first test of the camera happened in Vegas. I was blown away buy its high ISO Picture Quality and film like grain production.

one month later, her I am again, blown away by its ease of use, reliability, and of course, stunning output.

the album bellow is a mix of a bit of everything, from OOC black and white to full color. From portraits Sto landscape and Dow to macro... no major processing of any Kind. enjoy.

Excellent photo's with beautiful natural colours. This camera should not be underestimated. If one understands what it can do ,Obvious like you do .Would be the end of negative comments. There is a camera for each and every one of us to ones needs and liking. A picture is worth a thousand WORDS.

Thanks John. As you said, a picture worth a 1000 words. That fits perfectly the so underestimated Leica XVario.
We spent too many hours reading reviews and comments, most of them being negative. I'm coming from a DSLR World, a 5D MK3 with an armada of L lenses. No compact camera had satisfied me before to the point of making it my daily companion until I got my hands on the XVario.

I have to admit I was skeptical/negative when this camera came out. Having seen the quality of your results with this camera and that of others, I have changed my mind.

Excellent images, thanks for sharing. Please show us more of this very nice camera (and lens!) :-)

Best, D

D., for one reason or other, B&H has four of these on sale in their Used Dept. That's quite a lot of XVs which got returned or traded in. What I'm saying is: if someone wanted to pick up an XV these days, there's no reason at all to pay full retail, at least not in the US. So you may want to upgrade that puny S-thingy of yours and get yourself a *real* Leica :-)

Have you seen the price of a zoom for the S? After that anything is a bargain! :-)

I did not say I was going to buy an X-vario, but I have to admit its lens looks good. But with the weather we have in London the X-vario would not be used a lot... Not enough light! :-)

Just for fun I tried to look at one the other day at a dealer. They did not have one. "Why, are they selling so well that you have none left?" I said. No, came the reply, because we did not order any more...

Hope you are well, D

very well done, and very pleasant colors and sharpness...

I looked at all the pictures of the hike with the X vario. I just have one question. Is there a way to get back to the very beginning without scrolling through all 62 pictures one at a time. If I use my back arrow on my pc it is one at a time. If I close the tab on top, I kicks me out of the forum and I have to re-enter and find my place again.

Oh that must be annoying Dave. Isn't the link taking you to a folder on my Dropbox? Dropbox does allow a thumbnail view of all pictures .

When I use your link, it takes me to Google. If I had done a slideshow instead of advancing frame by frame, it probably would have worked better. Nice pictures though. A little too expensive a camera for me, unfortunately.
