Where are all the EM1's?

I thought you were getting the A7?

Here we are approaching the middle of November and where the he** are all the EM1 's with the 12-40 lens?

In the UK there appears to be none available and I just don't see why?

Ian
Umm, after ordering from Olympus Online UK, on Sept 12th I finally gave up last week and ordered the E-M1/12-40 kit from DigitalRev in HK, 5 days later it was delivered, i'm now very happy and cancelled my order with Olympus yesterday.

Many that will ship direct from Asia... maybe they are shipping there first, just sending the extra to Europe?

Not with the 12-40, but with MM3+HLD7. :-)

still trying to learn...

Haven't seen the kit in the U.S. yet. Ordered the body from Amazon on Oct 19th. Received it today, November 7th, two and a half weeks later. Still waiting on lens which I didn't preorder till the 21st.

Amazon UK have a kit with 12-50 in stock, but with the 12-40 delivery has now gone out to "2 to 5 months", i.e., "we don't know"

No kit is offered in the U.S. Only internationally. But there is a mail-in rebate from Olympus to get $200 off if you buy both the E-M1 and 12-40 lens.

Here in the USA you can stack rebates so 200 off the 12-40 and free mmf3 adapter. I've received the mmf3 and hdl7, the em1 and 12-40 are still on backorder. I checked with customer service and they won't tell me how many people are in front of me or when their next shipment is. There is unclarity about the rebates here. The letter of the rebates state all items must be on the same invoice, so even though I've seen the EM1 show up in stock for a couple of days at both cameraworld/ritz camera and Best Buy of all places, I've kept my order with Adorama intact.

But, I've got plenty of cameras so I'm in no rush. Just hoping I make the cut-offs for the rebates on the 12-40 lens. Also hoping I get things in soon enough to have a big ebay sale on my left over stuff for the holiday rush.

Plenty EM1s on Amazon... for under $6 each

But I imagine you wanted the new Olympus E-M1 camera and not a Blackberry battery. :)

sitting in my office next to me is one em-1 12-40 kit.

bought at world camera

After reading this thread and getting frustrated that mine isn't here I emailed Olympus Europe asking how long they were away. This is what they said:

"the camera should be dispatched to you in about 2 weeks.

We are very sorry for the delay and the inconvenience caused by that!"

I ordered the 12-40mm kit with Olympus UK on september 27th.

Same here:)

But because the weather outside is turds, I haven't had much time to shoot with it yet.

Here! Did you really want to know that?

I have a 12-40 lens for my EM-5, broken out of an EM-1 kit for me in a shop in Singapore, last Tuesday, a shop which normally holds a lot of Oly kit. There were several EM-1 kits shelved behind the counter. I travel from the UK fairly regularly and seem to buy most of my Oly gear there where I can see and try it before purchase. I'm loving this lens and am now wondering what to do with my Zuiko 12-60. I fondle it on the E30 from time to time but seldom use it these days. Shame. Cheers Chembro

I've just had a dispatch notice from Olympus EU telling me the e-m1, 12-40, grip & adapter is on it's way so perhaps we're going to see an increase in availability in the next few days in the UK.

Cheers Mick
