Went to the "local" Sam's Club and they just received the i950S. It was listed at 268.95. Is that a good price?

Trudy, that's pretty good, but buy.com has it for $249.99 (no tax, but add shipping): http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=90123290&loc=111

Search http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=691822/search=canon%2520i950/ut=d853981ab05557ef and you'll see the best prices, but beware of shady vendors. I see the lowest shipped price there to be $215 to my zip code.

I think list price is $250. (Canon's web site lists $250 as an estimated street price)

Amazon has it for $235 with free shipping. Usually no tax either...

I have used http://www.mwave.com for years and they have it for $213.50 but they are out of stock now.

http://www.newegg.com has it for $225 and in stock. I have also used them several times for computer components.

I paid 224 at Costco.com. Although Sams/Costco is more expensive they offer the advantage of being able to return the printer if you should have any problems (no time limit on returns).

I always heard that it was costco that had the unlimited return policy but I am not sure?

One thing to take into acount, the s is because it is special packaged for sams club. If there are any canon rebates, you cannot get them (some of us got screwed on that one with the i850s). Also it may include extra items. The i850s had a usb cable, the i850 did not. Unless I am mistaken, the i950s comes with a usb cable and a usb card reader. Not to say that sam's is the best deal, just to give you a little more info.

PC Nation has it listed @ $235.59 plus free shipping (limited time). Their listing under BizRate says out of stock. But adding to cart @ PC Nation does
not show out of stock. Order and see if it is out of stock.
Read customer reviews about PC Nation at BizRate.

With the USB cable and card reader, all things being equal, I suppose it's not a bad price. Not getting a particular rebate might be a deal killer for some, but getting it at Sam's is another option for those who might want to just pick one up today.

It sounds like your local Sam's club may have marked it up a bit. I bought mine at Sam's in Texas for $238.00. I have read a lot of complaints about inconsistant pricing at various Sam's outlets. Even in the same metro area.

I was visiting Sam's Club in Ann Arbor Michigan a few weeks ago. I bought the I950S for $238. It comes with USB cable and Dazzle card reader.

My local Sam's Club in Columbus Oh does not sell the I950, only the 850.

I worked for walmart for a painfull 6 months back when I got out of college. If sams is run the same way, and I think it is, they will charge as much as they can get away with. They keep the price low on big ticket items to get you into the store and gouge you on the little stuff. In non-competitive markets (small towns where they have already crushed the local competition) it is not uncommon for them to charge double what they charge in a competitive market. Store managers have control of pricing and can lower the price to beat the competition, or raise the price, because there is no competition.

Yea, I got mine at Sam's in Austin for $238 with the USB cable and the Card Reader included...

They also had Ilford Gallery smooth Gloss paper for 25 bucks for a hundred box.

Seems to work well with the printer, haven't tried any special profiles yet.
