I don't often see pictures of urban scenes that really convey the beauty of an area -- this one is very nice.

This was one of those stormy afternoons when the sun is streaming through broken clouds and takes on an eerie light. (These colors are as close as possible to the way they actually appeared -- not altered).

2 nices views. Would have a bigger screen to see the 1st one (16/9 is not the best for verticals) and I like the second very much. Have been only two or three time at the Mt St Michel (with no camera at thses times) but it desserves more visits and I don't live that far from it !

All the best, Michel

The second one have really something. A very good idea. I would have less area of yellow in the center top that takes too much attention. Perhaps cloning the trees in the background (not that easy and not tried ;) )

Very interesting. Regards, Michel

Thanks Michel for your comments. The first is actually 4:3 but it does appear to look a bit 16:9, must be the borders. Looks nice printed though :-)

This was my first visit to Mont St Michel (we were staying between Dinan and Rennes) so was a day trip. Was not the right time of year for the sunset I would have liked. I would have had to travel East along the coast some way but the family was tired, and even then it might have been difficult with the new access road that is being built - the area appears to be changing quickly.

Sorry, not 4:3, 4:6! And while checking I revisited my shots and pulled out this one.

Absolutely perfect Lee, your really have good sense of what composition should be. I truly enjoy all pictures you are posting and I learn a lot, just looking at your work.

In the second one i exposed for the statue so the treetops were overexposed somewhat. Rather this then having to lift to much shadows . Retake somewhat more realistic for Michel:

took opacity down with colourizefilter and softning shadows too;

I prefer the atmosphere in first attempt
