nice pictures, the third is my favourite, is this the 75-300 mm lens?

All well done, but this shot I really like the details in. Unusual to see a young-ish Magpie and very well taken. Nice eye contact and feathering details.

All the best.

The image couldn't care less what took it, it just exists.

Magpie teaching a youngster the pecking order.

You may like this thread then. :D

You bet I love to see behaviours and bursts like that. That's what we all like to get. Excellent !! ;-)

All the best and a classic set of shots. Congrats on the timing :-)

Impressive flight shots on fast moving birds. Any comments on the E-M1's BIF capability in general or versus other cameras? Were these taken with continuous autofocus tracking (I think that's the right term) enabled?

I was using an RDS for some of them, but yeah, pretty good. I think I got more hits than I would get with the E-M5. The C-AF seems more forgiving, whereas with the E-M5, technique mattered a lot.

"RDS"?

A red dot sight. I typically use one for photographing swallows. Those little suckers can't be tracked with any viewfinder.

Very nice photos. What do you think of the 75-300? I was thinking of this but I'm concerned by the f6.7 on the long end versus the 100-300.

I think it's excellent. I haven't found the extra half stop to be an issue.
