Left side of images not in focus at all,did a test with a chart.Left not sharp, right tack sharp.

Getting ready to send back to Nikon.

Tried different bodies, still the same. 70-200 VR1 sharp across the chart.

This ever happen to anyone ?

Mine is perfect and most used lens..send her back to Nikon with sample images and hope they fix it quickly for you. Once perfect your going to love it.

Sounds like a de-centered lens. Get a replacement/new one.

My first 70-200/2.8G VR2 (back a few years ago when I got it) was a dud - my first "dud" lens from Nikon in 30 odd years of shooting the brand. Sent it back, got another one from stock, and was fine from then on. Unfortunately these things occasionally happen...

How old is the lens?
was he first right?
Has it become slowly worse?
Is it suddenly happens?
Is he maybe dropped or bumped?
Do you have examples?

If the lens is new get the retailer to exchange it, or refund your money.

If the lens is not new it may need an expensive repair.

I have had this lens for some time,I know what it can do in the proper hands.

Somehow after sending in for a check up,I used it for 5-6 months and noticed something was not right.

I send it back.

I have received it back for Nikon and everything is now working as expected.
