I'm not a Rockwell detractor, but did find this amusing:

At the beginning of his review of the 55-250 IS II he gave the usual "I got mine at Adorama". Toward the end he says "the fact this lens focuses so closely is another reason I can suggest it so strongly without ever having seen one".

Well I'm certainly no KR fanboy but ... I couldn't find the quote you attributed to his review! My blindness? Edited? Someones wishful bashing?

It's in "today's news" or "today's updates." For Tuesday 10-29.

Near end under Recommendations it now says, "Even if IS is a mystery to you, the fact that this lens focuses so closely is another reason I can suggest it so strongly."

The original wording isn't necessarily proof that he's a lying shill ;) He could mean that he was impressed and convinced by the close focus and max. mag. specs even before he bought it.

:D

Or just poor editing on his part - stuff like that often happens when people merge separate drafts.

What's telling is he removed the part about how he'd never even seen one. What he probably should have removed is the part about how he got his at Adorama.

Unless, of course, the two posts above yours are combined or separately, the reality. He probably edited the article to reflect both his views, findings and the truth.

Then again, I try to be a pretty generous positive person and give the benefit of the doubt whenever I can!
