Used Price for D300?

Not a bad price. The problem for sellers on ebay is that even at $650.00 , their net sale price is $572.00 . Not bad if you are getting these cameras at a low price to begin with. I am in Canada , and have had experience with retailers like Henry's. They do trades, give nothing for them, put it on ebay, and make a substantial profit. Not a bad business , but for people who are just selling to upgrade, ebay is not the answer, unless you are desperate.

I wouldn't go by what KEH is asking. People will 1) often pay more for a camera from a dealer (which includes a warranty) than they will from a private party, and 2) KEH is expensive in any case.

Ebay is an intersting thing. I see that camera has rightly, sold. But I see that Roberts also have a good condition 200f4 AI at 139, buy it now.

Seems great price. Funny thing is, that buy it now price is probably better than a bidding war, just saw one bid as high as 200 bucks. Did not seem much better condition than the one at Roberts.

Also, I just paid 120 bucks for an excellent condition Nikkor-S 50 MM 1,4. May seem high to soem, but I did buy it now and then another one I saw was bid as high as 111 or something like that, seems similar or if anything slghtly more used.

Missed one on Ebay from Cameta, excelletn condition with hood and all, SC, for 99 bucks, listed after mine.

But the point is that the 99 buy it now price was better than the bid war price of 111 and my buy it now price was not much more, with knowing I get exactly what I want.

I see that bids escalate madly in the last few hours.

Not too keen on that, I think if you see what you like, simply pay the buy it now price, if looks reasonable.

That's helpful to me. I have one that needs the sensor cleaned but in overall good condition. I was gonna throw in some cards and an extra battery and was thinking $500ish. The monitor is in great shape and the body is good except for a permanent imprint from the Bogen quick release. If mint is $750 I think I'm close to right.

Just purchased a D300 with 7k actuations from Adorama for $515 in "Very Good" condition.

I purchased a D300 from a private seller on eBay three months ago for $480. It was in very good condition with 23k clicks.

I found one 2 months ago at a camera swap for $550, including MB-D10. Absolutely mint with only 2000 clicks, and three (plus one dud) Nikon batteries. The seller was a very nice guy who just didn't seem to be worried about getting top price. I didn't see the sense in it, but I'm not complaining. I guess for some people money is not a problem.

PS - Prices are fluctuating on ebay between $450 and $600, depending upon condition, amount of interest (based on quality of presentation in the ad and pics), and the seller's feedback rating. Lately I think the price for a clean D300/D300s has actually gotten higher the longer Nikon stalls on a D400.

i paid $600 for an EX+ D300 from KEH. It was mint. KEH's return policies and great service are worth extra money to me...it was the second D300 from KEH - the first was also in EX condition but priced at $450 - the AF failed after a month and KEH gave me a full refund. I doubt that it would have been as easy if the first D300 had come from a private seller.

Bought a D300 yesterday to use as a spare back up body, just 7483 actuation perfect working order and in very nice cosmetic condition £285 . Could not really pass that by.

Kinda weird but I contacted Adorama about a D300 they had for sale and asked about the actuation count and was quoted 7,482, shortly after I bought it. Did you purchase this from Adorama or is this a huge coincidence?

I am from the other side of the pond in good old blighty, would not by an old used camera from somewhere 3000 odd miles away. Bought in the uk from a local dealer. Bit of a strange coincidence though that shutter count neigh on identical.

Figured as much but wanted to make sure, seemed almost too much of a coincidence with the shutter count and purchase date. Anyway, enjoy your camera.
