This is my first post so please forgive me if I have chosen the wrong forum. I will be happy to repost somewhere else as directed. My problem is that I am traveling to Europe and want to take some video as well as stills. I am looking for a bag that would accommodate a Canon G2 video camera as well as the D10 and 2 or 3 lens. Any suggestions?

Maybe a Lowepro Back pack would be your flavor.. !!

I'd recommend the LowePro Reporter series, such as the RL400 -- if you don't need to carry a computer. These are great bags and will do a good job protecting your gear while being easy to use.

If you plan to take a computer as well, I'd recommend the LowePro Stealth 600AW.

A lot of people like the backpacks too. I personally think they are harder to work out of then the courier-type bags -- may not be an issue for you, depending on how you work. But I like the ability to easily change lens, swap memory cards, etc., while on the move and wearing the bag -- I find this more difficult to do with a backpack-type bag.

I'm not sure what a G2 camcorder is -- do you mean a GL2? If that's the case, the bags I recommend may not be large enough. A larger backpack may be the best alternative if that's the camera you're bringing.

Yes, I did mean the Canon GL2. It's a lot of camera to carry along with the D10. Also need space for battery chargers, videotape, etc. in addition to the cameras and lens.

I too am researching bags for travel. I have a wedding to shoot in AZ. in Jan 2004. I need to get all my stuff down there on a plane. This includes lights, umbrellas, stands, etc.

I currently work out of a Tamrac Pro 12. I have a 10D a 1D, 28-70 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L, a 17-40 f/4 L, two 550 EX's and accesories.

This bag just won't cut it! It is way to heavy! I am adding a 12 in. Powerbook and a 85 1.8 to my gear so I am looking vary hard at backpacks and roller style bags. I would recomend these, you just need to decide if you want to pull it or pack it. ( So do I ;p )

I will still need to find something for the lighting equipment.
