Da roolz, mate, da roolz:

1. Take a pic or three.

2. Reply to this threat INSERTING YOUR OWN SUBJECT LINE and include your pix.

3. Say something about them.

4. Sit back and wait for gasps of admiration.

5. Offer gasps to other posters.

Cheers, geoff

At least from the comfort(?) of Takubar Beach Resort.

I know my pix of the volcano are becoming a bit of a cliche but watching the Rabaul volcanoes -- this is Tavurvur smoking away -- is endlessly fascinating and getting the best pic is endlessly difficult.

This one is OOC except that I have applied Automatic Correction (white balance, brightness, contrast) in PhotoLine. And downsized, of course.

Of course, the moment I say that, I have to refer back to the pic I took the day before. Where was the canoe in the foreground when I needed it for the perfect pic?

Hmmm -- maybe I know a way to do something about that!

Cheers, geoff

Forget cliche. Every day is a different atmosphere, and the venting will be different. It's a great study to pursue, IMO.

Now, from my vague recollection of other exposures of that island these are the best presentations so far. Simply excellent, Henry. But one caveat - in the first I'd have backed off on vibrance a bit - the rich blue of the island is a bit much for my sensibility, but that quite subjective (just thought I'd mention it fwiw).

A couple of pics from a local farmers market and a local fruit farm.

Should we buy the long skinny one or the round fat one?

Got some nice shots today with my antique PEN and the trusty M.Zuiko 40-150.

Native Kowhai tree flowers - attracts the birds & the bees. Think this was with a +3 close up filter.

The a few birds arrived, ignored me about 1 meter below them, and had breakfast! Amazed the metering handled the extreme tonal range - almost looks surreal with the white-out background. Had to get the filter off quick smart!

This guy was expecting lunch, but I didn't have any on offer. I do like the bokeh produced by the 4/3 tiny sensor and the budget zoom!

Shoot the Light fantastic

Nice shots, the light in the cathedral is really nice. IBIS with a fast lens is really a fun combination. I think the first image has a little softness but the overall emotional feel shines through.

I like these. IMO, the composition of the 2nd image is much stronger. The boat in the foreground adds depth and interest yet doesn't really distract from the main image. And I think the cloud/smoke formation in the 2nd image is more interesting.

Very nice! Love the color in the lighter part of the sky.

Do you do anything special when shooting through glass?
