I picked up a pack of the Epson Pano Paper today. Actually my wife did for me. Nice lady I tell ya. Anywho, I have an s900 (canon) and I want to give this stuff a try. Size is 8.3'x23.4'. I know that is as long a sheet Canon can run off.

Can anyone provide me with possible printer driver settings usch as paper type, etc. that may work for this type of paper. I have never used Epson paper with my Canon. I know this is not their best paper, but my wife did get it for me and I want to see how one of my pano's will look on a real sheet of pano paper.

I will be printing with QI. If I left anything out, let me know what you may need. Oh yeah, OEM ink.
Thanks.

I own an S9000 (eq print quality of S900). I have some of the Epson panoramic paper and have not tried it yet. I would set a custom page size. I use the Epson A3+ 13x19 paper which has the same glossy characteristics as the panoramic paper; my 13x19s come out great with the printer driver "ppg" or "glossy photo paper" settings. I'll let you know how the panoramic works when I try it.

Dewey,

Can you give more information on that paper? Where did she get it and what is the Epson part number? I've been looking for just this size paper and can only find the rolled variety.

Thanks.

She got it at CompUSA, 16.99/us. Part Number is S041145. You get 10 sheets of it. I am using a Canon s900 to try and print these using Qimage. I cannot get it to print the full length. Thanks for the information Dewey..I don't know when I'll be able to get the paper. Interesting it won't let you print any longer than 11". I was planning to use a custom paper size as well thinking it would recognize the longer paper setting.

What program are you using to print? Could that be your problem?

If one of us figures it out please lets post it to this thread.

Thanks again....

Have you tried printing using Qimage? I use that for all my printing and there is an option in the software to set a custom page size. I'm betting your printer software is cropping it. (Been known to be wrong though)

Try downloading a trial version of Qimage and see if that helps. (That is unless you're already using it of course.

FWIW: A co-worker gave me a sheet of Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper and I just printed an 8x10 on it.

I searched the forum and learned other have used paper type Photo Paper Plus Glossy. My trial print appears to have turned out very nice. However, I just printed it a few minutes ago and things are still settling.

I hope I don't think of something else! Your thread is filling up quickly.

Iam already using Qimage to print, awesome app. The custom setting was recognized in Q, but when I printed it, I did not print the way I though it would. It only went ot 11". So I must be missing something. My settings in Q are as follows:
22.85*8.0

I set this up by clicking on the printer with the wrench on it and going through the printer driver. Maybe I am missing something that I should be doing in Q exclusively.

I definitely plan on posting any info. For the entire afternoon, no one follwoed up with anything on this. The print is not too bad that I printed, but it may be time for a custom profile from Cathy or maybe profile prism. But since I have a Canon Scanner, I don't think Profile PRism will do me any good.

I burned two more sheets and it still not going right, that leaves me six. I emailed Mike and another person who normally helps me out with Q problems. Hopefully one of them will get back to by tomorrow.

Mike is very good at responding so it may take some time. More time to take pics.

I can even get the pic to place on the preview side (right) of Q and it looks good, it is jsut when I send the print to the printer, it will not print the entire lenth or width of this paper.

Have to be missing something. Maybe if we keep this thread going someone will have an answer.
Let me know how you make out with yous.

BTW, if you have a SAM's club near you, check them out, they now have some Ilford in stock. I think it is the smooth pearl. 100 sheets for 25 bux. Get it cut to 3 4*6's and you are at 8 cents a pic.
Thought you might be interested.

If I can get this work, I plan on trying some of the Red River pano paper. I loveir Satin papers.

Hey, thanks for the Ilford tip! I actually purchased my i950 at Sams as they were the only ones in town carrying it. Didn't want to wait on UPS.

Let me know how the Red River paper works out as well. Its probably less expensive than the Espson type. Someone on here claims to like it very much......Richard W if my memory serves.

I tried both:
I mentioned earlier that I I clicked on the printer with a wrench on it

Went into the driver settings and clikc Custom (Scaled) I belive...getting late on East Cost

Set my paper size up htrough the driver irslef and saved it in the printer driver
Q picked up the correct paper size

But when I went to print it, it did not print the entire lenght of the pano paper

I must not be giving all of the info or something, but that is exactly what I did.

I also changed one of the buttons (in QI) to the pano dimensions and that did not work either.
Crop button is up, not pressed down.

either way it is Not printing the entire length of the panon paper whether I have the crop button pressed or not.

Order the sample pack for RR and give it a try. Very cheap for two copies of all their papers. Can't hurt, we all spend enough money experimenting anyway right....

Hi Dewey,

Have you made sure you've got 'Normal-sized Printing' selected from the Printing type list box in the driver?

On my S820 I've found that fiddling around with the custom page settings can cause the driver to switch into 'Fit-to-page Printing' mode. This happens when i've tried to specify a page size that is too big for the printer and needs to be manually reset to normal sized printing. This may be the source of your problems. I know it gave me some pretty odd results in the preview window :)

Anyway, here are the S820 printer settings I've used to sucessfully print some full sized panoramas on this paper. I've only used about half a pack so far, but I havn't burnt any sheets yet, hopefuly the S900 isn't too different...

Media Type - Glossy Photo Paper works ok

Print Quality - 1 (fine)

Halftoning - Diffusion

Custom Page Size - 8.30 x 23.00

Printing Type - Normal sized Printing

Assuming you are using Q-Image, this should give you a printable area of 7.99x22.68. Just drop your image on a full page print and away you go

Siafu
She got it at CompUSA, 16.99/us. Part Number is S041145. You get 10
