I am doing football team pictures today and am conflicted as to what I want to do. Im doing them at 5:00 when the sun is still quite bright. The past photographer they had had the team always face the sun which looked ok as far as shadows and such but everyone was squinting. I was going to have their backs to the sun and blast them with strobes for fill light trying to eliminate the shadows. I'm just not sure I have enough power. I am shooting a Nikon d800 with I think it's an 18-55m 2.8. I have three AB800's with remote triggers and a portable power supply.

I could really use some suggestions.

full power those things and you will be fine.

I've done 100 people groups with just two studio strobes.

Line them up about 45 degrees to the sun and use your strobes for fill. Better modelling and needs about half the flash power.
