Paul..did you happen to notice this from Griddi?

"You are right, I just had a look at my EXIF, so sorry I was mistaken, as I thought the photo's did not net any PP........"
Probably Griddi did nothing with the photos except look at them, and the software rewrote the JPEG for no damn reason.

Apple iPhoto is like that. I had never heard of this one.

So where are the originals, the pictures before you ran them through Arcsoft

mediaimpression?
Paul,

no, we are not talking about a different Kim.......

I posted these photo without doing any PP, meaning straight out of camera.......
I also note from the exif you had sharpness normal and saturation high! Neither of those are recommended by the Kim I know, are we talking about a different Kim?
I agree you have a point about my setting regarding sharpness and saturation, but I could / can not find any suggestion for sharpness and saturation on Kim's site.......
Search my site (the custom Google search box is at the top of the right hand column) for "hs50exr sharpness" and you will come up with many articles.

One example ...

http://kimletkeman.blogspot.ca/2013/04/hs50exr-and-f900exr-review-part-11.html
So for the moment, as I have gone back to Kim's settings, I have the camera set to Film : Standard, Color : Mid, and Sharpness Standard, but I don't know if this would be Kim's choice, perhaps you can me help out ?
For JPEGs I shoot sharpness pretty low, as Fuji JPEGs often have halos otherwise. I then tweak sharpening in Lightroom if necessary.

Saturation is whatever you want, but since I am in Lightroom I like to knock that down too. Remember that the less you "bruise" the pixels during the capture, the more data you retain. Boosting saturation is easy in post, but saving an oversaturated image is often impossible. Channels blow out and then you are effectively lost ...

Which of course also supports the argument for M size DR400 in P mode ...

As I wrote already, it was MY MISTAKE to claim I did not any PP on these photo's, I DID, but I posted the photo's later, and forget I had done PP on them, as I in the meantime I had taken photo's with another camera and was busy to file these........

SORRY, SORRY, SORRY SORRY, SORRY and more SORRY"S.........

Maybe you could start another thread and post the originals so folk can see how they came out.

Thank you Kim for your reply, I will read more closely your site, as I wrote already, for a time being I shoot with the XF1 RAW / JPEG, but then changed the seting back to just JPEG, mostly as the XF1 is not my main camera, and if I go out with the purpose to shoot photo's, I always take my FujiX100, or the Olympus E-M5, and both these camera's are set for RAW/JPEG, so I take with XF1 just JPEG's.......

I must admit, that I tend to set saturation and sharpness often to high, and have now set all my camera's, incl. the XF1 to saturation and sharpness to " Standard "........

Thanks again for your reply, which made sense to me, as it is helpful........

Greetings,

Griddi.......

Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your understanding, I did not wanted to start WW3 here, just because I truly had forgotten about any PP's on the photo's........

I will not post these photo's on another thread, as I don't have the orginals anymore, and also I am quite feed up with them.......

Next time I take some photo's with the XF1 I will however post these, with PP and the originals......

My greetings to you,

Griddi.......
