So I've decided to buy into the Fuji system, but still having trouble as to which way to go. For me the x-e1 is the way to go in terms of features, size/built and overall experience. However, it still has certain bothering issues (which I know should be fixed on the next upgrade) that deter me from getting it right now. Since I know I will be getting the x-e2 for sure, I am looking to get the x-m1 right now (with kit) and probably the 35 1.4 and when the new model comes out, sell the kit and get the x-e2 with the.better kit lens (fast zoom). I was thinking this way I can start shooting right now and lose less money on the upgrade. Your thoughts?

Had the same consideration before going for the x-e1 last month. Main reasons were that the dials were similar to my x100s, EV and I preferred the kit lens on x-e1 which is a keeper for future body upgrades.

There is not much of a price difference between the X-E1 and X-M1 kits. I would go with the X-E1 kit with the 18-55mm (stellar lens). You do not know what the future holds but one thing is for certain the X-E2 will be more expensive than the X-E1 kit is now. Also the X-M1 kit has just been introduced so it hasn't had the benefit of price erosion like the X-E1.

Fujifilm solved most of the issues I had with the last couple of firmware upgrades. What are the issues that you perceive with the X-E1?

Where do you see that? At B&H the X-E1 kit is $1,199 while the X-M1 kit is $799.

Viewfinder lags, low-res lcd and limited video capture formats. These cannot be fixed via firmware.

On another note, how different is the x-e1 output then the x-m1 one? I sae they each have a different image processor.
