I would normally put this on the Accessories thread, but I ran into a problem with an order from B & H for two of these batteries and thought this would be appropriate for 6D owners as myself. If you are getting ready to order additional batteries you might want to go to some location where you can check the batteries before you buy.

Both of the batteries I received last month do not accept a charge and were DOA. All the packaging is Canon and the one that came with my 6D match the numbers and detail except for SFMF is located on the lower back of the two dead batteries and are stamped with 2012 06. My good one that came with the Camera has SL7G and a date stamp of 2012 12. I called B and H and they said to get in touch with Canon, and I called Canon and they said, as a courtesy they could not help other than send a new one but they are all of stock and do not know when they could send one. They were not aware of any problems. I may have to go to Best Buy and try their but they are listed at $99.

I was going to order two more from B and H but I am reluctant to do so as I might get another set of DOA and be out $112. At least the current on is functioning flawlessly. Just want to pass this on.

Why aren't you returning them as defective to B&H, where you bought them?

I've had my 6D for about two months now. Purchased a spare LP-E6 at the time I bought the camera. The initial charging was interesting. One battery charged per normal. The other battery gave no indication of progress while charging. I removed the battery from the charger and reseated it. It finally charged as it should.

Like you, I'm planning to order two more Canon batteries in the near future. Now I'm considering buying third-party batteries.

You need four batteries?

You need four batteries when you go on a trip and bring the wrong charger. :-(

I had ordered them and put them in my closet waiting to go on a trip using the current battery in the meantime. Since it was past 30 days when I opened the packages, B & H would not give a return authorization

I am going to carry further discussions with Canon.

Just got off the phone with Canon and they want me to return one of the DOA batteries and they will send a new one. The reason the will not exchange the two is that I purchased them from a vendor (B AND H) and therefore there is no warranty. If I would have purchased from Canon I would not have had a problem.

UPDATE: I also played around with the battery connections to the charger and after 30 minutes of assuring there were clean contacts I pressed it into the charger and after 15 presses, it began charging. I will give an update after I see the green light.

Bought my 6D about a month ago along with a second OEM charger and battery(date code on the battery is 2013 01) in preparation for my trip to Italy next month. The purchase was made from B&H. I charged the second battery with the second charger with no problem. I have as yet to use either the charger or the battery that came with the 6D.

I just unwrapped the kit charger and battery. The date code on the battery is 2013 01 as well. I plugged it into the charger and then into the receptacle and it immediately started to charge.
