Unbelievable... DavidP to be banned...

Yeah, I did run off to the Nikon forum about a week after the 10D
came out . . for a week or so. The forum was moving by so fast,
my head was spinning.
What? One day I think it took all of seventeen minutes for the front page to be cleared:-)

I even sent an e-mail in because it was so nuts.

Either koalafarm or KiranP complained to Phil about DavidP's post
about his Epson 2200. Phil even went so far as threantening to ban
DavidP unless he behaves and then moved his post to the "Open
forum" forum!!
I think there a lot of people that need to get "out" of here often.

Don't worry, I don't mean fully "outside", taking pictures. Just "out"
of the Canon SLR forum. "Open Talk" and "News" ... far away,
distant places like that.

Meet some new people, et cetera. Sure, they may not own a Canon
SLR, but that isn't total, 100% proof there's something wrong
with them. They at least have an interest in digital photography.

And then there are these complaints about the need for a new
"newbie" forum for Canon SLR users, because there are too many
messages in here. But if it wasn't the single "anything goes" forum,
that would help a lot too.

But DavidP seems fine. I like him, and I would hope he would never
be banned from here.

I can't find in my post where I implied I was referring to you regarding the Newbies. The originator of this thread sure seems to have a problem with some others however.

For the record, I find a majority of your (DavidP) posts informative. But things such as 5 or 6 in a row detailing the times to meet other members I feel are best done by email off the forum. But this is just my opinion
For the record, Newbies don't bother me. I try to answer many of
those questions. There's no way I can answer all of them. Some I
even ignore.

And you won't find me complaining about the newbies, either.

Last I checked, there was a Pro
forum here, and perhaps some posters who are tired of dealing with
the "newbies" here might want to head there.

It looks like we traded one OT thread for another. Poetic justice if you ask me. Mini-me would almost have to come back as DavidP if DavidP were to be banned ;) LOL!!!

For the record, not all of us had access to email or each other's email addresses when that happened. I don't think Greg has his email available for people to send email through the forum. So, Girish didn't have his email. I had it, but not accessible to me at the time.

Girish wanted to test out the 500/4 and 400/4 the next morning, but needed to know if we'd all be availble. Otherwise, he was going to buy some last-minute airline tickets out of town.

So, we had a good excuse!

I had a pretty good idea of why. LOL. Though an email saying "you were banned, here's why" would've been nice.

As it happened, I kept trying to post, and it wouldn't post. Finally I saw the words near the top of the screen about being banned for abusive behavior. Probably took me 10 minutes. LOL>
an explanation as to WHY one was banned......

I kept searching through a particular post where I had misspelt "shirt" or "runt" or "duck"

It's still a mystery.. an no replies to numerous emails..

weird....

still, I have an enless supply of email addresses and domains, so I'll be hard to shed.......

I didn't think those free emails (yahoo.com, hotmail.com, etc) worked here.

That's what somebody told me, though I never tried.
