I have a nikon d100 and I would like to try action sports photos as an option for my part time sport photo business. My current lense is only 35-80 telephoto. I need to upgrade. I would appreciate some recommendations on:

--Best type of zoom lense for outdoors and indoors action photos.

--Best camera settings ( ISO, shutterspeeds etc. )

--- best software for processing photos

--- most efficient business strategy regarding the taking and selling of action photos.

other helpful hints.

I love my 80-200/2.8, I take alot of Nascar pics and other racing at Sears Point, FYI, be sure to use a 1/30 or 1/60 and pan your subjects to get that moving tire look and background movement....
