X10 EXR Mode

I just got my x10 today. Can someone point me to a good source that explains EXR mode with samples and examples on how and when to use it? I am a bit confused about the whole 6 mp thing. Why would you use just 6 mp on a 12 mp camera. I am totally missing something.

I would not use EXR mode as such. It makes a lot of bad decisions. If you want a lot of dynamic range, use M size (6 Mp) and DR 400. Excellent links from Prime below.

How often do you need a 4000x3000 pixel image, by the way?

The book by Alexander White...'Photographers guide to the Fuji X10' (or something like that) is very helpful on all things X10

Purchase a copy of "Photographer's Guide To The Fujifilm X10" by Alexander S. White and all your questions will be answered. The book that comes with the camera is a joke.
