Can anyone recommend a good PC monitor for photo editing. I currently have a Samsung Syncmaster 2333sw but I would like to buy a better quality monitor for photo editing and I’ll set it up alongside my 2333sw. My budget is £500.

Thanks :)

Well at the moment it is looking like it will be a Dell, but still not sure if it will be the Dell UltraSharp U2412M, Dell UltraSharp U2413 or another Dell. Along with something like the X-rite i1 Display Pro.

I've had a Dell U3011 for a year and love it. Don't forget you have to correctly calibrate any monitor for photo editing and printing.

I just bought a Asus PA238Q. Seems to have better connectivity option 1 gets great reviews 1 has a matte screen ( not sure for the Dell )

Cheers

Thanks for your replies. I think I will go with the U2413, it's now a case of where I buy it from and I will buy the i1 Display Pro at a later date.

My concern is still the fact that if I want to calibrate the U2413 I will need to spend another £160 on the i1 Display Pro. On Amazon you can get the Asus PA248QJ with a Spyder4EXPRESS calibrator and monitor hood for £374.95.

The main difference I see between these two monitors is the number of display colours: 16.7 million on the Asus and 1.07 billion on Dell, I guess that is why the Asus is cheaper. Is this difference really noticeable?
