why don't you just wait for the reviews before shouting and panicking? Panasonic would never release a new version of an old lens with only exterior changes!Caudex wrote:
Nevermind, I found an official announcement from Panasonic in regards to this lens....
Disappointed!

Read this bit about:
※ It is the only change of the exterior design from previous models (H-H020), the performance of the optical design does not change.
Why not? Sigma did just that with their 19mm and 30mm.why don't you just wait for the reviews before shouting and panicking? Panasonic would never release a new version of an old lens with only exterior changes!Caudex wrote:

I hope AF for video recording will be faster. I like 20mm a lot.
But it is a Panasonic press release. You think they are hiding some neat feature? A mass reduction from 100 to 87 grams won't motivate me to "upgrade"mr pina wrote:

Amazon says "Available for Pre-order. This item will be released on August 9, 2013."PC Wheeler wrote:
I wonder if, like the new 14-140, it will be available in Europe and Oceania months before it can be purchased in the Americas?
On the other hand....Caudex wrote:
Pretty disappointing, just releasing a newer version because of looks and the slight weight difference.
They should have listened to their customers and fixed other issues. Then it would have enticed their previous customers who had Mark 1 version to buy the new version. With just the change of weight and better looking, I doubt people will be flocking to buy it.
Fix the slow AF, then you will have pretty much every owner of the Mark 1 buy the Mark 2. haha
Even more plastic.PC Wheeler wrote:

On the contrary, one of the features of the new lens is its metal exterior, vs. the plastic exterior of the previous one.PAUL TILL wrote:
