I am going to a baseball game next tuesday and i want to get some great shots from the upper deck (reserved seating), i am looking for a long distance lens(like in the thread instead of the uv filter i have or the polarized, i dont mean a replacement piece) that will fit on my f505 and i also want to finally get a bigger memory stick ( i have 32 now) and i may also get a new battery, where can i find the best descent prices online that will ship to me by monday and also which lens should i get i want long distance zooming, thanks - also a reccomendation for a wide angle lens would be good also - thanks..

You might want to try checking this link:

http://www.beachcamera.com/product_query.asp?query=product&i=OMB300

This directs you to Beach Camera and the Olypus B-300 telephoto lens. You can do a search on this forum about some experiences others have had with this lens. It seems to be the best choice for the 505.

So you are going to a baseball game.... Lucky you ;-) Definitely feel free to share your photos with us if it's the game I'm thinking it is!!

Regards,

John

I am very jealous. PLEASE post some pix of the Mets beating the Yanks for the 3rd consecutive time.

I have the B300 and like it; bought mine from http://www.eppersonphoto.com for about $140 a few weeks ago. I would urge you to experiment with the lens before going to the game. I had mine at the Devils opening night (got goose bumps seeing the Stanly Cup & watching them hoist the banner), but was unimpressed with the shots I got. Even with fast exposure, I had many shots that were blurred -- I suspect because of camera jitter -- I wasn't using a tripod. If you have a small tripod, bring it. I don't know if you'll have any problems with security, but I was not allowed to get too close to the ice with my "professional" camera.

Good Luck, LET GO METS!!!

(If you're a Yankee fan, sorry -- I like them too, but my heart lies with the Metsies!)

Quick question for you. I was thinking of picking a B300 up today,
and was wondering if you need an adapter for the f505V to use the
B300. I thought I read somewhere the the B300 uses a 55mm thread,
but I thought the F505V is 52mm?

Yes, you need a step up ring. If you order the B300 from epperson and tell them it's for an F505V, they'll make sure you get the right thing. Very knowledgeable folks.
