I have had a few opportunities to try out my new lens for portraits. Let me show you some examples:

There were several examples of very good out of focus backgrounds in this session. Handheld indoors as the evening sun shone through the curtains.

Using a narrow aperture to get some decent DoF. The picture will be used for a poster in upcoming local elections. Unfortunately the background will be orange.

Decently shallow DoF at f/2.8.

There is really not much to dislike about this lens except for the price and the weight. I was a bit worried about LoCa, but as you can see in #3 the hairs in front of and behind the plane of focus has no odd colours, so I guess it is OK.

Focus is fast and I suspect that the OOF shots are a result of user error rather than the lens or camera missing focus. This happens with this camera, but less and less as I practise.

I have done some test shots showing bokeh, but they are so boring that I see no reason to show them. Bokeh is calm, with no cats eyes and very pleasing.

No additional sharpening has been done, the lens is sharp!
