I just bought a LCD Screen protector for my Canon S400. Those thin films that you peal off and put on the LCD.

My question is...

Before I apply the LCD protector... what should I use to clean the LCD. Plain water... or windex.. or soap.. or what?

Remember the LCD has a anti-glare coating on it so I don't want to use something harsh that will take that off. I've got quite a few check smuges on the LCD right now and I want to clean them before applying the screen protector.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I remember seeing this a while ago, and have actually used the technique on two different LCD monitors, along with a number of laptop screens, it should work on a camera's LCD screen as well.

Combine one part isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and one part distilled water, moisten part of a soft, lint-free, cloth (it should not be damp, not dripping). Use this cloth to clean the screen, without applying much pressure.

If you do a google search on "cleaning lcd screen" you'll probably find more of what you're looking for.
