I was on Gili Air, Indonesia last month.

Here are some underwater shots from the Sony RX100

My housing is the Ikelite and I used the Epoque DCL30 for some of the shots.

Thanks for sharing :)

Just curious but how deep is the girl in the last pic ? Seems quite deep !

Mark

I think that was around 5-8 meters. I was at the surface and the right above the frame of the picture is the surface.

Shutter priority and Auto ISO.
Which are the settings I use 99% of the time above water as well.

I'm very new to the camera, is that in P mode? I plan on using a dicapac case to take underwater shots at the Great Barrier Reef, hopefully they come out as nice as yours.

No, S mode is Shutter priority.

You choose the shutter speed and it will adjust the aperture automatically.

If you use auto ISO it will also choose Auto ISO automatically. Very helpful if you care more about the picture being sharp (no motion blur) and not so much about grain.

P is basically just an extended Auto mode.

Very nice set, glad you got results you like.

I understaand Shutter Priority, and auto f and auto iso. Can you give comments on your focus methods please.

And, did you try shots with less available light, and what happened?

Most of the pictures I took with the setting using "Multi" as in multiple focal points and let the camera choose.

Only very few I chose the center point, focused and then framed. This is quite tough under water tough, because there was always a rather strong current, so it all has to be very fast.

There were not many pictures with less available light, because even when diving 20 meters under water, more than ISO 250 1/250 and F1.8 was rarely necessary.

This following picture was taken at roughly 20 meters depth. Can't really tell exactly, but it was around that.

The colors do fade and you push the limits of color correction in Lightroom.

Color temp is adjusted to 50000 and tint is at +150. More is not possible ;)
