I got back to Japan last week from a trip to Bali, Indonesia. Good trip. I took my Canon G15, Olympus E-M5, 9-18mm f4-5.6, 14-150mm f4-5.6, 20mm f1.7 on the trip. If you are interested you can see some photos (mix of Canon and Olympus shots) in the Bali gallery here:

I also wrote a short trip report here:

Shot no. 3 is just wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. I also took a look at your website with more beautiful pictures!! Shot no 3. is a nice scenery however to my eyes it looks like a painting or an image from a computer game. Is it HDR? Please don't be offended - I know that some like the effect and some don't.

Really nice pictures. Clear and colorful and nicely composed. It's amazing to see such fantastic pictures coming from high-end compacts these days and not DSLRs... of course, the G15 comes from a respectable lineage. I remember why the serious photographers sought out the original G1 and G2 all those years ago. The results now are quite impressive. The middle two look like they belong in a travel brochure. You must be really happy with the results!

These are very nice. As an EM-5 user I'm interested to hear you elaborate about using the G15 as a companion.

Jan, no problem. That photo has had no special processing. Shot in raw and then just basic processing in LR.

Yes, I quite like the G15. Note that in my OP I mentioned that the Bali photos were taken with the G15 and Olympus E-M5. You can tell which is which by looking at the file names. The files named IMG_nnnn.jpg are from the G15 and the ones name OEM5nnnn.jpg are from the E-M5. All shot in raw.

Great shots -- really enjoyed looking at your site. If I may ask, how did you decide when to use the G15 and when to use your OMD? I am just curious when the G15 was more useful to you (I have the OMD and am also thinking of getting a G15). Thanks.
Scott, on a previous trip to Nepal last fall I used the E-M5 and also carried a Panasonic G3 as a backup (uses the same m4/3 lenses) and a Canon S95. For Bali I decided to not take the G3 and S95 and instead take the G15. It served as a backup to the E-M5 and as a smaller/lighter camera to carry when I didn't feel like taking the E-M5. Worked out pretty well. By the way, here is a post about the Nepal trip:

In Bali I usually didn't use the E-M5 and G15 interchangeably. I used one or the other. Usually I just carried one with me and left the other in my hotel room. You might want to look at my post from awhile back with some thoughts about the G15:

The G15 is quite capable and for this trip to Bali I decided to use it as both a backup to the E-M5 and also as a smaller/lighter camera for when I didn't want to carry the E-M5. See my post just above and also you might read this post that I wrote awhile back after getting the G15:

Thanks for the link, very informative. I have an E-M5 that overall I really like. I'm looking for a compact companion. My old eyes still have pretty good distance vision and I can do a lot of outdoor activity sans glasses. But without glassess I can't see what I'm doing with an LED, especially in the sun. Instead of point and shoot it's more guess and shoot. The G15 is a bit bigger than I really want but there's not a lot of options with any kind of useable viewfinder. I need to give the G15 a closer look.

Henry: thanks so much for your response and the links to your other posts. Very helpful. As small as the EM-5 is, there are times that it's just nice to have a self-contained camera (with flash and zoom), as you mention, and the G15 is very compelling in that regard. Thanks again for all the posts. I very much enjoyed your photos.

Scott, you are welcome. Those are my thoughts exactly concerning the G15.

That sort of answers the question for what I put on my website. As for the total, I don't know off hand. I didn't choose a particular camera for each shot. I chose which camera to carry and when I had that camera with me all the shots were taken with that camera on that outing.
