Hi,

I guess this has been asked a couple of times and I have looked already at the most obvious bags, but my setup is a bit special, so maybe someone with a similar setup can help me.

I am looking for a shoulder bag that doesn't scream Photo-bag and fits the following:

E-M5 with attached 45/1.8

E-P2 with attached Samyang 7.5

E-PM1 with attached 20/1.7

Olympus 75/1.8

Olympus m.14-42-R

3 Spare batteries

2x Metz AF 58

Gorillapod

4x RF603 transmitters

iPad Mini

a little bit of space for small accessories like lenspen, sd-cards, 4 spare AA batteries, gels, CCK.

the only thing I could switch are the lenses on the E-M5 and the E-PM1 but I don't think that makes a lot of difference. No, I don't want to switch my flashes to smaller ones :-)

As a Bonus it fits a 13" MacBook Pro, but is not really needed.

I highly appreciate any help.

Hello two questions

do you need to fit a bottle of water as well ( yes depending on your answer on this one , the suggestions will change)

do you need immediate access to the ipad ( meaning outside pocket versus inside pocket or sleeve)

Let me know

H

thanks for reminding me of the bottle, however I would prefer to have this outside of the bag.

I don't need immediate access to the iPad.

I own a Domke F3x, two Domke F2s and a Domke Satchel. And I would second the rec of the F1x, as it's bigger than the F2, and I think you'll need that space for that amount of gear.

But frankly, the reason I switched to Micro 4/3 was so I didn't have to carry bags that were that big anymore. Nowadays, I carry 1 M4/3 body and 3 lenses in a LowePro Edit 130 bag, which is half the size of my smallest Domke (the F3x).
I have to say that I don't like the domke bags for their outer design, but for sure they are great bags.

I have also choosen m43 in favor of smaller/lighter equipment meaning that I can now have 3 bodies that weigh just a bit more then a single nikon D800.

I think I will have a deeper look at the tenba messsenger, as I really like how it looks and love all the small pockets it has.

Still, carrying 3 bodies at a time sounds like you're a glutton for punishment. I own three M4/3 bodies, which each have a specific thing they do best, but I can't think of a reason why I'd bring more than 2 of them with me on the same shoot. I won't diss your big flash setup, because I don't know what you shoot, and unlike the three bodies, I absolutely CAN imagine scenarios where you'd bring and use all of that stuff

I'm a fan of the Vanguard Heralder series. There are 3 sizes available.

Pros: removable strap, included rain fly, modular/convertible system, removable inserts, molle attachments, reach through top, great built in pockets, waterproof bottom, looks like a plain travel bag.

cons: not a lot of info online, included inserts are a bit "floppy"' ipad/notebook sleeve can be fiddly w/full bag. Only one external pocket, and yes, it fits a water bottle.

These are available from Amazon from anywhere between $80-200. I've had mine for over a year and its been on about 25 flights and I use it daily. Highly recommended.

A Billingham 307 could do the job -you could also look at the 05 series - but I can't believe you plan to move around with as much gear in your bag, as clearly that's ok if you are looking for a transportation bag but do not expect to carry all your listed gear on one shoulder for hours without pain, whatever bag you choose. :-)

Have you considered a trailer? It sounds like backpack time. The shoulder bags for that amount of equipment are going to be very large. I have one from Tenba which is used for storage...and another very large bag from Domke which is also used for storage. How many bodies do you need to carry at one time? It might be time to think light...or downsize the carried items and pack a trunk/boot bag.

He probably needs one for slow slide film (Kodachrome or Velvia) one for fast color film, and one for Tri-X. Oh... wait......

I don't plan to move around with all the listed gear, but I want to have a bag that fits everything of it just in case. I usually carry a small shooting bag that fits my second body with a lens attached, the kit lens and a flash with 2 transmitters. My main camera is on an rapid-r strap and I wear it cross-type with the bag.
