Share with us you Best Flower shot.

The flower pictures in this thread are definitely getting better, judging from the two you just posted.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Raymond,

Here is a couple of mine.

Please any critique is welcome :-) Flowers is not my strong point
but the photos are so pretty I try to take some anyway.

I can't think of any way you can improve it. Surprising sharp for a +10 lens.
Thanks for sharing.

Here it is, made with Hoya +10 lense. Color aberration exists
unfortunately, because of the lense and existing (low) light. The
actual size of the blossoms is obout 10mm.

Regards to all, nice pictures.

Hi

Thanks. Yes I used a +4 close-up lens on the first shot. The others were taken just using macro for the primulas and normal telepohoto for the buttercup.

Hi Raymond

Yes I see what you mean. I think I still prefer the lighter version. I think it has a dreamy but the modified one certainly has impact.

Ruan,

I think the original photo conveys a totally different mood. Very pastel and tender. It looks as if the goal was to invoke a very relaxed state.

Your rendition is very nice, but it concentrates on "subjects", "impact", "composition", and other things that are well executed if you think of them analytically, but loose the naive beauty of the original.

I think your edition belongs to the walls of a gallery, while the original belongs to my childhood memories.

Although this flower is not of the soil, sun and water variety, and although the shot wasn't taken with my Dimage 7, it is my favorite flower shot.

My daughter as a flower for her ballet recital:

Glenn, your daughter is very pretty and especially in such a colourful ballet costume. Her smile was really sweet.

It was a well exposed picture. I would like to see how the picture would turn out if you have taken it at her eye level. Like I did when I took this picture of my granddaughter:

Raymond,

Here is a shot from the same series where the camera is closer to eye level with the subject. I took 5 quick handheld shots on the front porch as my daughter was heading out to the auditorium.

Nonetheless, I rarely think of such things as eye level when framing my shots or examining images after they are taken. I guess I'm so concerned with getting the "hardware" settings right that I often forget about the vision. Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge.
