So after owning my 10D since the day it shipped, I have taken some of the best of the best for "public" viewing. It took me a little while to get back in the SLR groove of things (hadn't done anything with an SLR since my 8008 hit the closet about 8 years ago).

FYI... one of the 600 pixel wide versions of the pics, particularly the "Cousins" shot look a little funny, it's not the camera, it's my web album software doing something funky and me being too tired to fix it. So check out the "Printable Version" if you have a decent connection to the 'net.

I'd love to hear any and all comments regard content, ways to process, crop, whatever, that you think might be helpful. And if anyone tells me that the pictures are all soft (the big ones), I'm getting a Coolpix and going home. ;-)

Actually, no, I didn't notice that at all. Care to elaborate where you see this?

Good shots but I notcie the color seems flat in most of them. I get that too with my 10D, so what I done is create a few Actions in Photoshop that snazz up the images. Mostly some color correction actions and an important Saturation increase action that pumps up the colors and makes a hell of a difference...if you dont mind I can grab your photo and try one of my actions on it and post it..ok?

Sure, go wild and let me see what you do, as long as you promise to share what you did. :-)

Most of them have very little post processing at all, with the exception of a little level adjustments in Photoshop.

I'd love to see what you do, why you did it, and how.

Thanks!

I really think he was joking. If you haven't noticed yet, he's been involved in lots of focus related discussions recently. Anyway, your camera seems fine and as good as any of the other samples posted here. Don't lose any sleep.

I actually don't think he was kidding, so one of us is off. I'd
like to know who? (Or if he was, just say so, so I don't lose
sleep. :-)

Here is a sample of what a little extra saturation can do. This was a quick fix so its not perfect, but shows that if you play around with the image (post edit) you can make the flat 10D colors better.

misery loves company? He's unhappy with his and hopes to have some company. Your photos look great to me.

Most of us apply a little USM to our photos. Yours are very nice, but try a little USM to sharpen them a bit. You can always undo it if you don't like the affect.

Do you have a special percentage of upping the saturation that you use? Say 10%? I guess I should have bought a Sony. LOL. Just kidding, but I do like the colors to pop a bit.

Juli has a chip for me...........

Shes also BLIND........

She says everyones pictures look great even when they are bad.......

Yours are not "BAD" they are good composition.

2 of them are front focusing........

1. Cynthia shirt collar R. front is sharper (front focus)
2. Matthew L. shoulder is sharper (front focusing)

So Juli Vally stands corrected........She also needs glasses

Nice shots. I would recommend using fill-flash a bit more often. "The girls" is the pic that would have benefitted most from a bit of fill-flash, but it would have helped even out "Cousins" as well. Fill-flash evens out the shadows and gives the eyes a little bit more sparkle.
