Superb wide-normal APS-C zoom lens

Build quality superb, internal focus, super fast and quiet AF. Works great in video mode as well as still photography. No IS but not that necessary for this focal length group. Excellent walk around lens, landscapes, group photos and reasonable portrait lens. Image quality for APS-C format is superb. I use it with a Canon EOS 650D (T4i) body. Be sure to add the 77mm UV-C filter. Use the best quality such as the Hoya HMC UV(C). A protection filter is recommended by Canon to completely seal the lens from moisture and dust.

i have been using my 17-40 f4 with my 40D all around the world for the past 4 years and i have been very happy with the result. i know there are quite a few nay sayers regarding this lens in these forums but i totally ignore them. i never use filter with my lenses, i think using lens shade is more critical for safety reason than filters and i always use them ;-)
