Today I had some visitors outside my house. One of them acted like mad and screamed and shouted all the time, attacking other visitors! One of those 'Angry Birds', I supppose.

Sony A99 and G 70-400 mm at 180 mm. 1/1500 sec at f:8. Cropped a bit:

Not quite friendly ...

Great photo :)

Almost every day now I'm amazed with the beauty of the pictures made with the A99.

Very beautiful picture, but you knew that already, ;-)

Great shot! Thanks for sharing.

Nice action shot. The 70-400mm G1 still going strong ;)

Excellent timing and composition! That seems to remind me of someone .......

Really nice - what iso was it?

Hehe...love the tile of your thread...great capture!

Actually, I don't hardly use the ISO setting. My cameras are "fixed" at ISO 200. I just expose correct when the situation and subject allows this. If some underexposure is needed, i.e. to ensure very fast shutter speed, I brighten the RAW files within Lightroom. This gives the same amount of noise as if using higher ISO settings, but also makes you keep a wider highlight latitude. Great for sunlit white seagulls. When bumping up the ISO, you also reduce the highlight dynamic.

With the beautiful and extremely helpful WYSIWYG approach of EVF cameras I find this strategy very smooth and efficient, with excellent visual control also when underexposing the scene a stop or three. I always use manual exposure, and never Auto ISO.

Thanks, useful advice. I'm also manual everything (except focus)

Sorry, it's not very sharp. But, at the time I was just getting used to the A99.

Best,

Christopher
