Recommend OM-D picture settings for best looking video

I thought shooting a flat profile with the OM-D would be best for post processing but now I am thinking that might be a mistake since it has such a basic codec (and I´ve given up on a hack coming to save it).

What picture settings would you recommend to get the best quality video with the OM-D? Can post processing of the video image even improve it with such a codec?

Lifting shdows and pulling highlights from the OMD footage probably means you'll need to convert it first to a 10bit format, do you do this? You need to visit dvx user and personal-view to get some feedback rather than here or eoshd but in the main I think many use 5dtorgb from rarevsion http://rarevision.com/5dtorgb/ then you should be...
I have read that article back in December and applied probably all of the suggestions. They really break down the video focusing tips nicely but do not talk about what style to shoot the video in for best results in post.

Basically, I am asking what picture settings for video will offer the most flexibility in post, if this is even possible. I might do some tests this week to find out myself but I was hoping to hear from those that know.

You probably won't get any good answers simply because anyone who is interested in the level of video work you speak of would be using a different camera more suited to video than the OMD. Not that it's bad but video folks are just going to buy a Panny.

Personally, I shoot with the std settings with sharpness dialled down a notch, note the levels issue really bugs me with the OMD video, I have everything set to 16-235 on either the media player or the video card settings, this way the highlights and shadows aren't crushed or blown, but it does appear to make the image less vibrant so I usually bump the sat a bit. Also, if you are really serious and you probably already worked this out, use the dedicated vide dial and manual as best you can, even with S and A priority you end up with some exposure bumps.

as an amateur, I haven't had much trouble getting decent results out of Premier's normal levels/highlight-shadows adjustments on my OMD video right out of the camera. I'm able to recover highlights and shadows quite well. I mostly I've been shooting manual with 1080i/30.

Exactly, I completely suggest anyone who wants to take video seriously start on the Panny side, the OM-D is too frustrating to work with for video beyond the casual stuff. I picked it for specific reasons because of the location I am working and for better stills but for video was a big mistake.
