Hi, I bought a Lumix DMC zs19 off ebay and I am having problems with taking outdoor photos using multiple settings, e.g. iA, P, M, A, S, etc. which come out white. Indoor photos taken on any of theses settings seem to be fine. i have reset the camera to factory settings. What might be my problem?

Here's an outdoor photo using iA iso 100, F4.0 1/800, & AWB

I never use iAuto, but it sure looks like a defective camera to me - iAuto is supposed to select iISO, but this looks like it's stuck in extremely high ISO.

Try the "Setup" menu, page 4, "R Reset" - might help.

I shoot ISO 100, Aperture mode ƒ3.3 usually & have never seen anything like that.

I shot an outdoor video which was fine, but could the problem be a software issue? I was wondering if I could re-install the firmware? I recent update to the firmware version 1.1 but it didnt help. I have done multiple resets with no success.

If you can - definitely try re-loading the firmware, but it sure looks like you got a turkey - eBay will try to help unless the auction said something like "no returns".

If it were me, it would be on it's way back already -- the ZS19 is too nice a camera for you to have to put up with this.

I realize this is an old post, but I was curious if anyone else has had this issue & found a fix.

I have the identical issue with the DMC-ZS19 which I bought in Dec. 2012 & used until mid-2019, when it failed.

A search of the Panasonic website was not helpful.

Thanks.
