Well Marco, So far, I've not been a fan of anything Adobe related, I prefer Corel Paint Shop Pro. I hate Adobe Elements, I bought Elements 9 when it was on a special offer, when it first came out. I've only used it about three times since I put it on my machine. As for Photo Shop, it's just an over priced, over sized program as far as I'm concerned. But, I haven't tried Light Room at all. I know you, and a lot of others swear by it, so maybe, as you say, I'll have to give it a go. Take care mate.tecnoworld wrote:
It is indeed. Unfortunately, I already purchased it way back :-( but anyway it's a gorgeous sw to work with. I think many ppl should look at the nx300, both for its very good qualities (in primis, of course) and for this bundle.

Hiya Joe, there appear to be a few of you guys using Capture One, smms to be quite a popular choice.Ysarex wrote:
I do nearly all my raw conversions using Capture One and Photo Ninja. Photo Ninja doesn't read my SRW files so I just convert them to DNG -- no big deal.

Hmm, this seems to be an unusual way to do things, when a RAW file is so close to a Tiff file anyway. I remember a few years ago, I lost all my images on a HDD when I had to do a complete, clean reinstall of the OS. I puschased a program called, (I think), Card Recovery. Anyway, after the install, I ran the image recovery and it saved all my images. But it saved all the RAW files as Tiff. When I questioned the supprt team of the program, they told me it did it that way because the RAW is so close to a Tiff, that the program couldn't see the difference. I can't argue about this, ass I don't have the technical knowledge. I'm just relating to you, what I was told.Skipper494 wrote:
I never edit RAW files. I always use the manufacturer's converter and convert to 16-bit tiff, then edit the tiff file.

Hiya BG, You sound as much a fan of Adobe, as I am, lol. I too, have Elements 9 on my pc. It's been sitting there, (taking up room), since I got it on special offer when it came out, new. But I have used it more than ONCE, (lol). I must have used it at least three times. For ordinary image adjustment, I use Paint Shop Pro. I like PSP, but it doesn't play very well with a lot of RAW files. So I'd have to do as one of the posters above said, and convert to a Tiff or something else, in order for PSP to handle it. Thanks for your input here.Bouldergramp wrote:

I edited an EX2F RAW file once using Photoshop Elements 9 once.

Thanks for your input here. I appreciate your thoughts on LR, as I've never used it.tjobbe wrote:
I do believe it takes a while until you get used to the LR concept of dealing with the workflow but when you are at it, you can nicely work with the RAWs especially because you have a lot of tools available to do basic manipulations (brushes, filters, stamps etc) all working with RAW images.
NEvertheless I still use Picasa as one other tool to organize my images especially for uploading to G+ and controlling image sharing (which is a bit of a pain with LR add ons)
I would not call LR to be a perfect tool but with the presets and filters as well as putting your own profiles in place, it is very powerful.
Hmm, thanks for this Marco. Perhaps it would be better, if I do go with the NX system, to stay away from LR altogether and try one of the other programs that have been suggested here. Something more to think about now.tecnoworld wrote:
Lr 4.4 seems to add some ca to nx300 raw files. The consensus is that lr5 beta is much better for this camera.
