My daughter just had her engagement photos taken by a professional photographer in Chicago (I live in Ohio). We bought the rights to the photos in our package. Our plan is to make a book of the images and use that book as the sign-in for guests. This way they can display the book on the coffee table in their home and have the memories of everyone that attended the wedding. I'm not a professional photographer but have used mPIX and SmugMug. I would like recommendations of where a non-professional could get a book that looks professional. I'm willing to pay a fair amount for a quality book. Thank you.

I had my daughter's wedding photographs turned into a photobook with MyPublisher. Excellent quality and their service was top class. They even called me in the UK (from the USA) to clear up a query.

I want the best quality book that I can afford (less than $300), but yet from a lab that let's non-professionals order as I do not have a professional license number

If you use a Mac or know someone who does you can create fantastic hardcover books right through Iphoto (stock photo software factory loaded on most Macs). Many different options and several sizes available. Price very reasonable. You design and upload everything as you want. Apple then ships you the finished book.

I've done several for gifts and they've come out great.

I think you can do that pretty easily. I did a photobook as a gift for about $30 that looked pretty good. I used a local photo chain, downloaded their software, did the layouts myself, and sent it electronically. A week later, I had a great book. Images looked much better printed than they did on my computer screen.

Have you looked at Blurb? I've had a couple of photo books made from them, and I've been really impressed with their service.

You may want to take a look at Burrell Imaging in Crown Point, Indiana.(800.348.8732)

I have been using them for many years.

They do excellent work at very reasonable prices and can handle about anything you need.

Now I need to check all the suggestions out. I want a really high quality book. Since the photos are done by a professional and the book will be seen by most if not all the guests I want the book to be stunning. I do own a MAC but have never used their services.

Are there any more suggestions for a superior book?

Thanks to all.

I have done several with MyPublisher, lots of options for layout and options for paper quality and print quality. You can download the software and make the book at no cost prior to printing.
