Many of you know I shoot birds (motto could be the more reach the better) and had DX bodies till I bought a D800. Since last April, I have not used my D300s. In fact, I sold it recently because 12 mp doesn't cut it for me anymore.
I bought a D7000 but found I did not use it much. In fact, I am selling it now.
My D800 needed to go to Nikon for repair and I bought a D800E. The D800 just came back - works fine.
I will use the D800E with my 600VR lens (with and with tc) on a tripod. I would like another body to use with a 300 2.8 with various tcs handheld.
If the D400 was around I would get that. Slow fps drives me crazy. However, we have no idea if and when one will be available.
So, give me your opinions - keep the D800 as an expensive backup camera or sell the D800 and buy a D7100.
I will thank you a lot in advance for your opinions and staying on topic.
