You know this is a joke, right?

Love the retro look though I'm still waiting for a digital back for my Brownie . . .

... though on mine it reads instead V4(500) and it's size increased somehow... ;-)

V4 + V1

I think that Nikon needs to rethink their strategy regarding the 1 series and come out with a fully compatible underwater system.

I would love to see an improved V3 (same speed, larger frame buffer), but with a twist. Something like this:

I would love to see a retro underwater camera, that accepts the 1 series lenses and a new line of series 1 submersible lenses.

Obviously the submersible lenses can be used with "normal" series 1 cameras also topside, and the "normal" series 1 lenses can be mounted on the "underwater" camera, obviously only for topside shooting.

One would still be able to use the FT1 adapter and use all nikon lenses as usual. But nikon will also introduce a FT2UW adapter, that allows usage of all old nikonos underwater lenses, including underwater usage, obviously some limitations will occur, like the camera will be able to use only aperture priority or manual.

I would sort of like to see the Nikon V05. Let's think slogans:

"Sure, it costs more... but you're worth it."

"Rula Lenska... WTF?"

"That's really hairy... that's where we lost McDonald sir... that's Charlie's point!"

I've heard rumors that they may also replace the J3 and S1 with even newer swivel S4 and SQ models!

For those younger forum members who may not have been alive at the time, Rula Lenska was a fabricated celebrity who appeared in V05 shampoo commercials several decades ago. If my memory is correct, she had red hair. Many people believed that she was a real movie actress. Maybe some of the older forum participants can verify this information.

Never ever heard of the lady or that shampoo, but there were and still are some similar looking commercials in Germany for a hair spray called "3 Wetter Taft"...

... though I don't think that those companies are related.

This is just a joke.

I don't believe Nikon will release anything like this for V3, smaller display and no interchangable lens. Why does Nikon keep coming new lenses for 1 system.

It was the talk of the town last millennium!
