...and bob it did, over and over again. I finally got a clear shot of it between two wrought iron railings.

Very nice.. by bitter experience I know that my P7100 isn't the right tool for shots like that. If I were to follow rhimes when taking pictures I should choose "Mary had a little lamb". LOL

Thank you. I know when I had only had 3x and 4x zoom cameras, I longed for the reach of a longer zoom. I bought a Nikon Coolpix P80 with an 18x zoom. I used it for 4 years, still have it and it's a great camera. However, when I saw the P510 on sale (and it used the same battery and I had the external battery charger already from my P80), and I had Best Buy gift cards, and it was a sales tax free weekend in our state, I took the plunge and bought it. I ended up only paying $60 of my money for it. It's the only camera I'm using right now and I do enjoy it. I love being able to get in close with the zoom.

Good capture ... I have just purchased the P510 and have found some of the images lacking in colour .. but you have seemed to capture this robin very well :)

Thank you, Julie. For some more photos, check out my photostream on Flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28058016@N02/ The first 4 1/2 pages are photos taken with the P510. The rest are more than 95% taken with the Nikon P80 and the remainder are taken with the Canon Powershot A530 and the Fujifilm Fiinepix F10.

Looking forward to seeing your photos. Have fun with your new camera.

I usually used the vivid (VI) setting on my P510.

Happy shooting,

Augustin

Your patience paid off. Nice shot. Love the detail :-)

Thank you, very much. I'm looking forward to better weather so I can get out more and use my camera. Although, I love to get a good snow photo, I'm not one for the cold.
