I dont think I can see any difference.

Can you?

It's not clear what difference you were hoping to see here. Perhaps you could tell us what you were testing.

The shirts look like the pressing was better after the firmware upgrade. :-)

Hi B18,

Thanks for posting your image. On my (calibrated) monitor, the beige/whitish jacket (shirt?) on the far right looks to have less of a greenish hue. That's where I see the most difference within this image.

With respect to my camera, Nikon's list of fixes states:
  • Gamut for Adobe RGB images displayed in the camera's monitor has been changed. This enables more vivid display of images.
I'm hoping this holds true as my camera, which I received in March 2012, has the greenish tint on the monitor. Will update firmware today and know for sure.

A little tweaking of your color saturation, style enhancement and contrast adjustment might expose the hidden qualities of Aloha and Grateful Dead gradients waiting to pop out. :)
Brilliantly funny :-) (Had to say!)

You can ask Nikon to change your D4 lcd calibration.

My Nikon rep said he will do it for me once I bring mine in for sensor clean next time.

My point of this test is to use awb to take photos and see how Nikon improves it.

Also the part where they say image appear sharper and more 3D.

Quick test with Nikkor glass does not do it, maybe I need to mount some Summilux on.

The right image looks a little cooler, but that could be because those were taken at different times during the day or slight fluctuation of lamp light.

Was taken a few mins apart. One before the firmware update and one straight after and inside my closet :D

I really wonder know if the improvement was done for Auto1 and not Auto2 WB preset.

The right image has a 3 dimensional feel to it. You just want to grab a shirt of the hanger and put it on ;-) I do see a slight change in tint to the red, but I don't have a preference for either.

I just uploaded the new firmware so can't comment. Both look the same, maybe a liitle more pop to the right image.

I went to my favorite wildlife refuge today and forgot to turn the auto fine tune on using the tc1.4II with my Nikon 500mm f4.0 vr lens and of course all the images were off just a little ugh!!! I've had two tc1.4EII converters and both were the same with +15 af fine tuning required to get focused images ugh!!! That was on a d3s and now the d4. My tc1.7EII works fine with no af fine tuning.

Hope firmware 5 does something more than just the time to load it? Lets see, this was number 5.

Should have said I've got a D800. The camera is due to be taken in for servicing, so will ask if they can change a D800's LCD calibration. Thanks for the info!
