My S50 in RAW mode generates a pair of files, a .CRW and a THM, for each image. I have installed the Adobe RAW converter and it brings NEF files into Photoshop perfectly, but when I attempt to open a CRW of THM file, Photoshop will not recognise the format.

What am I doing wrong?

According to the Adobe Camera Raw user guide the S50 is not on the list of supported cameras. You might want to contact Adobe for support on this.

True, but the S40 and S45 are on the approved list. I understand that the S50 comes with more pixels, but is otherwise the same.

It doesn't matter. The S50 came out after the Adobe Raw plug-in came out and Adobe has not updated the plug-in since its introduction. It does not support the 10D either, but folks are using it after patching the file and changing the D60 references to 10D.

I tried doing the same patch for the S50, changing the references of the S45 to S50. However, I suspect that due to the differences in MPs (4 vs. 5), it doesn't work as well as the D60 to 10D patch.

Very interesting! How did you change the references to S45 - where are they to be found?
