After a whole lotta years i have switched over to Canon from Nikon.Just bought a 6D a few hours ago with a 40mm pancake lens. Got a few rebates on both. Should be quite a big step up from my D200 .

Didn't really need high end equipment with my old job so just stuck with my 18-200 zoom for a number of years. Now concentrating on portrait work and live event photography so it was time for an upgrade. Wanted to get familiar with the camera before spending big bucks on a lens (zeiss 100mm macro)so went with the 40mm($150) to get my feet wet. Very excited and cant wait to try out all the new features at my fingertips.

congratulations!

Would you mind sharing how did you get the rebates since I'm planing to buy the same setup.

And maybe your thoughts on the can and the lens?

Thank you!

Canon had rebates ending today I think. I bought from local store here for a bit more than Adorama but just moved here and am looking to make some "connections". The body fits nicely in your hands and with this lens it is very unobtrusive. Just charged the battery so will get my feet wet soon. Now on to the learning curve. Really was disappointed with the Nikon quality issue on the D600 but I really didn't like the"feel" .
