Some shots I took and as sooc's they dont dissapoint.

The light was the worst i ever seen (a blend of daylight, tubes and bulbs). My 7D was always of with the WB, the X10 did a better job :)

A funny detail is the in the bottom pic (behind the Russian T34) is the very truck (Morris) that transported the Royal Dutch family into security during the invasion of The Netherlands in may 1940. It's an armoured truck that belonged to the Dutch bank. After escaping they embarked the British torpedochaser CODRINGTON and left for the UK.

Hi,

Interesting images well presented and executed. The lighting was clearly difficult, but the X10 has done well for a small sensor compact. Bodes well for the X20, which I have my eye on.

Nice shots!

I kinda wish #4 had been shot in EXR DR800 or DR1600 mode so the tail information didn't get blown out. Otherwise, I liked them, especially #1.

Thanks.

I still need to learn this camera but that is good advice, I will check those settings.

In januari I bought the X10 at a discount to accompany my 7D dslr and it sure can take nice pics (in some cases it outclasses my dslr).

Funny is that I have to get used to bigger aperture and still get away with reasonable depth of field.

The lens is great, one of the best I have seen in a compact.

The X20 seems to be very nice, but that goes for many high quality compacts as long you don't pixelpeep.

I love military museums, nice set, Limburger.

The X10 can at times be almost supernatural in divining a white balance: In your shots, I can see daylight, fluorescent fixtures, and sodium lights, three wildly varying colortemps, but look at the pics. Amazing.

My new favorite color-balancing trick: After trying several 'store-bought' white cards that were just too expensive, I carry a couple of sheets of HP Bright White printer paper. Flip the X10 on 'Custom' balance, and do the routine of filling the lens with the white page and pressing the shutter button to read/set this white balance. Works great, and I get 500 'white balance cards' for $8 USD. Gets dirty, throw it away and get another.

All the Best,

JW

Thanks,

In the past I visited several musea (Normandy, Verdun, Ypres) as well as several Castles.

My main interest is history.

Getting more and more familiar with the X10 I even start to question taking my 7D for a trip to Paris.

In the beginning I was a bit concerned about the performance compared to dslr but the X10 has impressed me and I haven't yet seen all it can do.
