Thanks for the update. Seems adequate for still and slow moving objects.john inglis wrote:
A chart now appears on the website that indicates the speed of the focusing with the adapter, which changes according to the aperture of the lens. The condition of the lens focusing mechanics also plays a role,
"Addition information (updated on 7/3/2013)
Test Camera: NEX 5, 5N, 7, 6, VG 900 (photo mode)
The focus speed depend on your lens condition, following information for reference only."

I'm starting to despair of ever having an elegant and functional NEX adapter (either manual or AF) for my Contax G lenses. Why are they all so inadequate (for one reason or another)?

By the way, I use Kipon, which is not too bad. Metabones seems a bit too big for tiny Nex body (enough space left for the grip?)

Why messing up with this adapter when sigma can deliver 19 and 30/2.8 for 199 usd? are the AF only?

AFAIK the Contac G lenses, while v-e-r-y nice, are no longer made. Probably quite a small (in lens terms) production run?superstarscrub wrote:

Contax G system has a bit of 'cult' going on. There is a demand to use these lenses again. These are arguably the smallest full frame auto focus lenses used on Nex system.isvana wrote:

So I wonder why they decided to target this lens mount rather than something like Nikon. Licensing issues perhaps?

Not bad price really, hope MF is actually usable!
They are still testing the second batch and start the shipping in 2 weeks time. Hopefully someone here will tell us all about it.Annex wrote:
Anyone had their adapter yet?Annex wrote:

on VG900, the jpeg output shows FF VG900 was in cropped mode. So G 45 + this adapter were not recognized as full frame lens. But yes, almost certain that it is possible to use CG lenses on future full frame NEX bodies with AF functions.
Therefore, this adapter is an important development. Looking at G45 photos... I want one!!!
