I've had the dsc-p50 for about a week now and I love it. This is my second digital camera and I have been very impressed with the image quality of this camera, especially the bright colors, the image depth and the macro mode.

The camera has, at leat for me, a very nice balance between ease of use and manual options. It works great as a point and shoot camera but can also be optimized for different conditions.
So far, very satisfied and having a great time taking pictures.
Problems:
Sony should not have included alkaline batteries since they are not suitable for any digital camera. I have 12 rechargeable batteries and a recharger (total cost=$40 US) that are sufficient for almost any situation.
The 4 meg memory stick is also a bad idea (can't even hold one uncompressed tiff image!). How much would it have really added to the purchase price to include a 16 or 32 meg card? I purchased a 64 meg card from Page Computer for $53.
